As with any destination, the beauty of the places visited is always purely subjective, but there is one thing you can't avoid when you land in Spain: el calor! After having counted that Spain is always warmer than Milan, we can go over the 5 pros of this trip between Valencia and Andalusia!
1) ECONOMY CLASS JUST AS BUSINESS CLASS.
I have tried every possible means of transport in Spain: plane, train, bus, taxi, car and electric scooter and now I can state that, what the Spaniards call “Economy Class” could easily be an Italian “Business Class”. Wide spaces, comfy seats, a socket for a plug, 2 usb inputs and a touch screen with a wide range of movies, music and games!
2) BlaBlaCar: A MUST!
We chose low cost rides to save on car rental (the under-25s pay a considerable surcharge). BlaBlaCar is a carpooling service very common among the Andalusian, so we have tested it and definitely passed with flying colors
3) ENJOY THE HOSTELS, YOU’LL SAVE THE CASH.
Do you want some advice? Book your bed in a shared dorm a couple of months in advance, you’ll get the most suitable rooms for your needs and you’ll get yourself the chance to sleep without worries. Because, let’s face it, the real trouble about hostels are the snoring roommates. Any more advice? Get yourself some earplugs so you can easily sleep in any case.
4) IT’S ALL VERY CHEAP.
Living standards in Southern Spain and in Northern Italy are not comparable at all: you will end up drinking cervezas for € 0,60 through the streets of Valencia. You’ll fall in love with the low prices of the Spanish supermarkets and among these remember the Mercadona: it will be your salvation! You’ll find fair prices also for admission tickets for museums (especially if you are under-25 students), for the clubs and for taxis.
Just like that, in the words of Pedro Capó’s summer hit “Calma”: “Calma, mi vida con calma”.
Enjoy your journey quietly, with no pressure, because you might wait a lot at your table before starting to eat and, from the hustle and bustle of daily life, we really need a break to slow down!
This is… the Spanish philosophy.
